Food, Cooking, and Restaurants
| Recommend your favorite high-end fabulous restaurant for me to take DH for his birthday this week. I want it to be right in DC if possible. We love local, organic, slow food type stuff, so anyplace (not Nora though) that specializes in that would be great. Thanks! |

Palena on Conn. Ave NW
Potenza Hook Can't think of any others right now. Have fun. |
| Komi, Black Salt, Restaurant Eve. Have you done a search on chowhound yet?--bet you'd get a lot of good suggestions there. |
| I believe that Founding Farmers in downtown DC has all local food. Not as upscale as Palena, Komi, Black Salt, though. |
| CityZen, Ris, Blue Duck Tavern, West End Bistro, Oval Room, Marcel's, Adour, Corduroy. |

Given your criteria, I think Blue Duck would be your best bet. It emphasizes locally sourced, organic food and is in DC (West End area between Dupont, downtown, Foggy Bottom and Gtown).
Komi, and probably CityZen, I don't think you'd be able to get a reservation within the week. I haven't been in ages, but I hear great things about Corduroy. Restaurant Eve I LOVE, but it's in Old Town, Alexandria. I liked Adour a lot the couple of times I went -- great atmosphere, and very good food. |
