Two dogs killed & two women injured

| Today. "Two dogs were killed and two women injured in a dog attack in Bethesda MD. Police said a woman was walking her dog when two dogs charged at her dog and one of them attacked it. During the attack the owner and another woman who intervened were hurt while trying to stop the attack. One of the charging dogs left the scene, while the other dog continued to maul the woman’s dog, killing it, a Montgomery County police news release said. Officers arrived on the scene at 10:35 a.m. and shot and killed the attacking dog when it approached the officers. The two women involved were taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said. Police said the attacking dogs lived in the neighborhood. It’s unclear whether the owner of the dogs was present at the time of the attack. Police also didn’t release any information about the breed of the attacking dogs." WTOP & MoCo police. |

This is beyond irresponsible on the part of the owner of the loose/roaming dogs. Nightmarish, regardless of the attacking dog(s) breed(s).
Dog owners should be required to carry insurance, and fines for out-of-control dogs should be steep. |

I hate bad dog owners, which is a growing demographic.
Utterly negligent to let your dogs off leash, or use retractable leashes, and walk your dogs other than right beside you. Your dog is not your furbaby - it is an animal. |

Idiots. Their opinion isn't worth a cent. You assume so much, probably because your brain is so small. And how are you going to feel when the attacking dog(s) turn out to be purebred and the victim's dog was a beloved, scrappy shelter mutt? Just stay quiet and be stupid by yourself, okay? Nobody needs your garbage take. |

| Ugh how oawful. Hope the women are okay. That’s a very nice residential neighborhood — we don’t live there but I have walked around it with my dog when dropped my kid nearby. |
