My recent college grad daughter is moving to NYC next month and will be looking for flexible part time work. Where do you usually go to find ad hoco sitters or someone for after school pickups etc. Just trying to get an idea of where she should be looking for postings and/or posting herself. Thanks! |
She needs to figure this out herself. She's 21-23, and a college graduate. She should be able to figure out how to find a job without mommy's help.
You will help her more if you encourage her to figure it out herself and remind her how resourceful and capable she is, then if you act as the resource for her and do the work for her yourself. |
Well...thank you so much for this response. My daughter is not a mom, and is interested in being hired by moms and since she is not on this forum, because she is 21-23 and has not given birth, she asked me to do so...
Anyone else care to share? Obviously she knows of care.com and sittercity but was curious if there's a better site for NYC parents. |
She could post on one of the NYC mom’s facebooks groups. I see recent college grads do that from time to time in those groups, and it always seems like there are alot of people interested. Try UES Mommas and UWS Mommas. I’m sure there are similar groups for other neighborhoods too. |

How flexible/regular is she looking and what area of the city will she be living in? There are some regional mom groups/facebook groups for sitters. And I’m looking for a part time sitter so let me know where she decides to advertise … |
