I have a plate, multiple screws, and rod in my ankle and every winter I seek out what options exist for a no-slip sole options.
I’ve tried On Cloud’s boot (run very small for orthotics wearer) and doc martens (some models are quite heavy). What do you like with a nice, non-slip sole? |
If you are looking to keep from slipping on ice and snow your best bet is a pair of Yaktrax (ice traction cleats) that can be placed over any boot and provide the stabilization you need. You can also convert an old pair of boots to "screw shoes". I have tried many kinds of boots and treads over the years - and while some are better than others - Wirecutter has an annual review of winter boots that could be useful to check out.
