How to find an English Tutor?

Anonymous
My DC is very math-leaning and is struggling in English class with writing. He's currently in 11th grade.

Can anyone recommend how to find a tutor to help him? Ok with zoom sessions.

And what would be the hourly pay range?

TY.

Honestly I would recommend a tutor thru Princeton Review. My kids have only had zoom (PRR based computer link, actually) sessions. We have used Physics and Pre-calc regular tutors and then AP tutors for humanities subjects including English language and English lit. One of the tutors they represent is actually one of the writers of AP exams and he is excellent. The cost varies from about $100 / hr to $250 / hr depending on which package you get. If you phone them and ask for Chibbi Davis he can talk you through everything, he will listen to your needs and suggest the different options he is great.

If you are in a private school, the curriculum is unique, then the best way would be ask your school teachers to tutor your DC.

Hi! If you're still looking for help, I'm a young tutor who graduated from Columbia with dual proficiency in math subjects and writing. As an undergraduate, I always prided myself on my writing ability and even secured publication at an esteemed Middle Eastern Studies conference at Cambridge University! Let me know if I could help out. My rate is $150/hr for in person sessions in Manhattan and $125/hr for virtual sessions. You can find out more on my website: www.lion-prep-nyc.com or email david@lionprepnyc.com.

Pure insanity. You aren't even an english major with a teaching degree. You can go online and get a tutor for $25.
