King Abdullah Academy (KAA)

Hi, please share any feedback about King Abdullah Academy in Herndon. We are a Muslim family and looking to put our son in kindergarten next year. Is there any bias against Saudi students? How are the academics and overall reputation of the school? I know they do IB only. What about sports and clubs?

It’s a school mostly for Saudi kids.

They have sports. It’s a nice school.

My child’s team played against them in sports and I remember being especially impressed by the sportsmanship of the coach and athletes.

Went there for a swim meet. Nice pool! Nice building.

I am interested in enrolling my child too! I wonder how competitive it is to get in?
OP did you visit the school? Have you made a decision about enrolling?

It is a school run/funded by Saudi government so no, there isn’t bias against Saudi kids.

If you have a smart kid, my impression is that it's been years since KAA has graduated a national merit scholar. Worth checking to know how many commended students they've had.

That's a silly yardstick to use. Many students don't even take the test.

My daughter's school played them a couple of years ago.

Muslim Community School in Potomac caters to Shia and Sunni. Their curriculum was re-done in order to make it palatable to all.
