(PWC) Why is no one talking about the problems at Patriot High School?

No names of minors please.
This seems like it would be a big deal, but no one is discussing it. Several football team members assaulted another teammate. No real details, but the rumors from my kids are that it was sexual in nature. By itself, this may not be very newsworthy because it involves minors, but there have been several other incidents at the school that together cause concern. First there was the racially motivated fight last year, where a white student was attacked and kicked unconscious by several students, and no one from the administration called an ambulance. This was kept low-key and quickly disappeared. Also, I saw a FB post by Ryan Sawyers about the principal's son being charged with Aggravated Sexual Assault while a student there. He since deleted that FB post but the trial proceedings details are on the PWC court pages. All of this seems to be some sort of cover-up or protection of the principal. I would think that with this many violent problems this close together there would be some sort of investigation and public outcry! |

| Huh? Patriot was always one of the best Prince William County Schools. Strong academics. Quality football program too. Most of the news this year has been on Hayfield’s football program, and I don’t think anyone knows anything about Patriot. |

New poster here. But yes, that's exactly what OP is saying. Why aren't people talking about these MAJOR issues at Patriot. OP, I agree with you, and have debated starting a topic like this myself. There is so much more I really want to say about this, but I don't want to get myself outed in any way. |

You can look up court cases in Virginia. You can do a "statewide search" which will bring up even minor things (like a speeding ticket) all over the state. You can also look at the Circuit court cases where you use the drop down menu for a particular county/city court and search for cases. The criminal circuit court cases are typically the higher charges like rape. |

| Good point. Apparently the assault was very upsetting and went viral. It's being swept under the rug. Even with minors involved, the story should be reported with their identities concealed. All we hear about is Hayfield football. |

| Maybe there aren’t a lot of people on here who are aware of this school. I just had to google it to see where it was located. It’s pretty far away and far away that many don’t consider it even the DC area. That’s probably why they aren’t taking about it. I’m in VA and hadn’t heard of it. |

It’s one of the go-to schools in Prince William County. Highly sought after. I’d consider its location a suburb of Washington, D.C., but others may disagree. |

There are very few PWC or Manassas families on this board. Its Dcurbanmoms so it does skew more DC/suburban. I would consider those areas exurban.

I have been wondering about the lack of coverage on these issues at Patriot too. Seems like a lot of cover-ups. Meanwhile Hayfield and Freedom have been the hot topic for months now.
