I have a client located in NYC who LOVES pizza. I wanted to send them a gift card for the holidays and was curious what the absolute best pizza is in NYC. |
There's no such thing as "best pizza" imo, there's a lot of great pizza. Where do they live? |
You are wading into a hotly debated area, my friend. Back away slowly. Maybe buy them a pizza stone if they cook and have an oven. Otherwise fuggedaboudit. |
I think the best is those 99 cent slices you get in Midtown Manhattan. |
|
Grimaldi's. |
NYT recently covered this
https://www.nytimes.com/article/best-nyc-pizza-pizzeria.html Personally, I like L'Industrie. And Mama's Too, which I don't see on that particular list. |
I'd just get them a gift card to a place close to where they live. |
Literally every pizza joint in nyc is so good. |
Sorry, you are out of luck:

I came here to suggest Sbarros and looks like someone beat me to it. |
They probably have a favorite already |
Yes, especially given that the best pizza is in CT anyway… |
I’m that PP. Couldn’t disagree more! I lived in New Haven for a few years and lived in NY for many years. IMO, NYC pizza is the best, hands down! |
We took Scott’s Pizza Tour in NYC a few years ago. All the stops were good, but the pizza at Philomena’s in Queens was out of this world. I still dream about it. |
