DC to Florida - Please recommend places in Ft Lauderdale suburbs

I am planning to move to the Ft Lauderdale area or suburbs - willing to go west like Davie/Weston FL. (away from ocean).

Can anyone recommend apartment complexes, areas to rent. I am not looking to be near the ocean - actually going west toward Davie/Weston is better.

Looking for something safe and nice (newly renovated)! I can't find any new built apartments for lease. In the DMV, so many new apartments, even if they are expensive.

Any advice from people who have lived there or living there.

Think about your commute. Will you be taking the Sawgrass Expressway or 95 north and south? Or are you working in Ft Lauderdale and then taking Oakland Park Blvd or equivalent? Traffic is always bad in Broward because of the many choke points that all require the same cut through in order to transit. Being out west is good for livability but bad for getting around to where you want to go.

Hi, have you checked out the Reddit and citydata forum for the Ft Lauderdale area? You might get better responses there.

There are no newly built in that area, and renovated LOL, ant, and other bugs city. Like giant palmetto bugs ....

Born and bred Floridian would never go back now. From Davie/Sunrise/Coral Springs

Davie and Weston are gross and old. My sister still lives in those shit holes.
