Does 8th grade Interim grades affect high school application selection

Kid in 8th grade always had straight As. Her score in Spanish went down and ended up as B in interim grades. However it now came back to A. Will this B GRADE in interim impact the high school magnet application acceptance ?

It's semester grades that count.
