MCAP report scores spring 2024

Anonymous
Did you get your kid's MCAP report from tests they took earlier this calendar year Spring 2024? It was not on Parent Vue.

For students who took tests for which the score counted for a certain % of Sem2 grade, did you get their MCAP score for that subject when you received Q4 report card?

Is person listed below same person to contact this year?

"The person the state refers parents to in order byo in get the MCAP report is Donna Blaney, the Supervisor of the Testing and Reporting Unit: Donna_M_Blaney@mcpsmd.org
You will probably have to repeatedly email her to get the report, though. -DP"

Havent received by mail either.

I don't think it matters. MCAP is an unproven test. Maybe once they've worked the kinks out but until they either fix it or ditch it for a proven national test I wouldn't worry about it.

I did by reaching out to the testing and reporting office. You need to be persistent. The person to email is Donna Blaney: Donna_M_Blaney@mcpsmd.org

And persistence is your friend on this one.

Schools will be sending them home in backpacks this year. The testing office is no longer mailing them to individual houses. We were told we would be getting them at school on the 17th but ours haven't arrived yet. I believe we have thirty days to get them out to families from the time of arrival at school.

But given that the MCAP supposedly accounted for 25% of 9th biology's grade, shouldn't parents and students have gotten the scores already?

+1. To that poster up thread and possibly in another discussion about it is unproven don't worry about it - please, stop. If it was unproven and not part of a kid's grade, why spend so much time away from instructional time to test for these "don't worry about them" tests?

DD just got the letter grade on her report card. No score on either the report card or the SGGCR.

Because the state wants to bully school districts into taking MCAP seriously, just like when they bullied school districts to take PARCC seriously by making it a graduation requirement after years when no one took it seriously.
The state is using the same play-book.

Why can't they upload them to ParentVue like other MD school districts do? Let's get with the times.
