Oldest just graduated from Wootton and he has a younger sibling in 5th grade. Unfortunately, we recently moved about 10 mins away but into a different school district (QO).
My youngest is entering MS next year. Is there any sort of exception with MCPS given to siblings for a feeder school given not living in that area? |
| Based on what? Your older child going to Wootton? You moved into a different boundary area. |
| No. why would there be? |
Uh, no. Why would there be? |
| By the time your current 5th grader is in HS, the boundaries between Wootton, QO, Crown, etc may be different anyway. |
| None whatsoever. |
|
No, and certainly not after many years.
What was your plan when you made the move? Did you think you could still attend Wootton? |
|
Not really relevant to this but I have seen a case where a neighbor of mine (QO district) had 2 girls go to Wootton b/c their step sibling went to Wootton (at the same time) - they got an exception from MCPS.
So yes, MCPS does give special exceptions to families for certain scenarios. However, I don't think yours qualifies. Might want to check with them. |
The op has one child in 5th grade. No other in mcps. |
Because the legacy of your older child established a Wootton dynasty for your family? |
That exception is for siblings who are currently enrolled, not for graduates. |
LOL Thank you, that was hilarious. |
| Why did you move if you wanted your youngest to go to Whooten |
"Wootton Legacy" was hilarious. Thanks for the humor this morning. |
| OP will henceforth be known as Wootton Dynasty mom. |
