And not for work. I’m a teacher, and use chatgpt all the time for lesson planning, creating materials, etc. But I really don’t know what I would use it for outside of work. I’m assuming that there’s lots of useful ways chatgpt could be used for more ordinary purpose, but I’m stumped for ideas. Would love to hear how others are using it. |
Isn’t this a perfect question for ChatGTP?

I’m a teacher and don’t understand how you use it for lesson planning. You ask it how you should teach a topic or to give you a lesson about something?
I use it in my everyday life often. I ask it to interpret things - medical or legal jargon. Quick recipes if I have this in the fridge. I see my kids use it for homework help, which honestly, isn’t much different than the text tutoring service promoted by their school. |

Nutrition questions when I'm too lazy to google and read; Writing cards - like write me a retirement card for x person I've known for 25 yrs. I don't use what it gives me word for word but def use some ideas/phrases |
Basically ask it for ideas for interactive activities to go with a certain topic, or provide real world examples that would be relevant to middle schoolers. That sort of thing. |
My daughter used an AI program to paste her syllabus and it outputted a calendar with due dates. |
I don't use it, but my dad recently went to Alaska for the first time on a cruise and he used it several times. I am not clear how it was more helpful than Google, but it literally may have just been him feeling good about using AI. |
I ask it about medications sometimes, or other medical questions. You have to cross-check of course. |
I used it to interpret medical tests when my kid was having health issues. |
I’m surprised people are relying on it for medical information considering how inaccurate it’s proven to be. For example, there have been a few recent situations where it was used in the legal field and was found to fabricate cases and laws. |
PP here— obviously, I also had consultations with my kid’s specialists. The test results sometimes came a week or two before the appointments and I wanted to get a layman’s interpretation. AI didn’t diagnose my kid, it simply helped me to understand the nature of the problem. |
