| I live in a small apartment and end up putting cereal boxes and stuff on top of the fridge. I was wondering if I should get a basket to put up there to make it look neater? What do you guys do? |
|
We just put large items on top an don't really worry about it. Baskets would make it less useful as I would need a stool to see what's the basket and potentially to pull the basket down.
Is it completely open, or is there a shelf of some sort? We're thinking about putting some shelf dividers in as part of a kitchen remodel to put some baking sheets up there, but I don't know if that will be super useful. |
| Try really hard to not put anything there or just embrace the chaos. It’s not worth pulling a basket down every morning. Maybe store the cereal in the fridge in an airtight box. |
| It's not worth overthinking, if you need to use the space use it. Maybe place something toward the back, so that nothing can be shoved out of reach. E.g. I had a picnic basket stored on my fridge w cereal boxes in front. |
| Go to Ikea for inspiration. |
| I recycle the boxes and put the cereal bags in the fridge. Your cereal lasts longer. Really, try it. |

For functionality purposes, I think ideally it would look better just to store what you need to up there.
Just try not to let it appear too cluttered of course. For the sake of it looking nicer sure a decorative storage box or basket may tie in a more organized appearance but most people really do not notice what is on top of the refrigerator. |
