Any recent experiences at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg?

Anonymous

We are planning an upcoming Williamsburg vacation and considering staying at Kingsmill. Has anyone been recently and have any feedback?

Also, any other suggestions about nice places to stay in Williamsburg that have a nice outdoor pool?

Thanks!

I was there yesterday. What do you want to know? What exactly are you looking for in a hotel / vacation?

Kingsmill has the “river pool” with a water slide, snack bar, and lazy river. Beyond that, your best bet is Water Country, which is 5 minutes or so away.

We stayed there last December for a weekend. We did not do the pool obviously, but I thought the rooms were really run down for the cost. It just seemed very dated. Breakfast was okay.

I think we will stay here next time:

We have been going to Kingsmill every year for the last 7 years, and agree with the previous poster that the rooms feel run down. We continue to go because our kids love the lazy river pool and water slide, and the river views from the rooms are a relaxing way to end the day (and only 2 hours from DC). We also enjoy the golf.

It’s disappointing to see the decline in the rooms, which are clearly worn. We experienced a decline in service a few years ago as well (before Covid) but that seems to be improving. I really hope they can continue to turn it around because the property has so much potential.

+1 we've been going to KM for nearly 20 years and the decline from what it once was is very sad to see. Like the PP, we continue to go because it's a traditions, the kids love it , and it's very relaxing and close by.
