What LACs have less stressful

Are there nice LACs in the Northeast where there is a more mellow academic vibe in terms of rigor, workload, grading etc,but are still considered respectable?

Stay away from WASP for sure. Potentially Connecticut College could be a good fit.

Amherst is very chill

People really do seem to love St. Lawrence. Might be more for a preppier kid.

Not an SLAC, but feels like one — Clark University. Bit of a sleeper, but the reputation is solid, and the kids I’ve known who went there were great, very down to earth, smart and curious. Really wish my kid had been willing to consider this one.

What about it doesn’t? Williams, Amherst, Swarthmore, and Pomona are places you’re gonna have to bust your butt to do well.

Why are people not saying the t5 lacs? I see them as non-competitive Ivy-like schools, so it would fit since they’re pretty mellow

My DD is at Swarthmore. It is not mellow.

It's all perspective. I think it's pretty mellow if you're not a grade grubber.

Because they are highly rigorous colleges that do not tend to accept students interested in a "mellow" academic environment.
