I just finished Sandwich after seeing it recommended here. LOVED it for the first half, then got kind of bored. I did finish - and have some mixed feelings about the disclosures that come.

I am thinking of reading Counterfeit by Kirstin Chen next because it looks really fun. Unless folks have something else to hook me instead!

I'm 3/4 through Same As It Ever Was by Claire Lombardo and really like it. The next ones I have on deck are The Cliffs by J. Courtney Sullivan and Long Island Compromise by Taffy Brodessr-Akner (both coming out in subsequent weeks). I just finished Same Time Next Summer by Anna Monaghan and loved it.

Currently reading Those Who Leave and Those Who Stay (the third Neapolitan novel by Elena Ferrante) and Anxious People by Fredrik Backman. Next up is Tom Lake, which I’m really excited about.

I just finished Private Equity a Memoir by Carrie Sun, super good!

I just finished nightingale by Kristin Hannah and loved it. Also loved no Angel - a non-fiction book about an undercover ATF agent who infiltrates the Hells Angels.

I read chain gang all stars on the recommendation of dcum and struggled to get through it.

Currently reading “Carthage Must Be Destroyed” (a history of Carthage). Hopefully getting my library hold of Judith Herrin’s book on Byzantium soon.

Working through T. Kingfisher's backlist. She's an incredible and prolific writer.

At the beach, I read couple of detective mysteries written by MC Beaton.. on recommendation from DCUM. A cozy British Murder Mystery Series; one is about a police constable, Hamish MacBeth and another about a middle age busy body named, Agatha Raisin. I thoroughly enjoyed both.

I’m loving Same As It Ever Was (currently halfway through) and cannot wait for Long Island Compromise! (I’ve pre-ordered the audio so I don’t have to wait for it on Libby …)

I just finished reading "Garden Spells" by Sarah Addison Allen. Published in 2007.
It is about a bunch of female family members who live in an old house with a magical garden. They cast spells on people by mixing certain herbs and flowers into recipes.
I thought it was fun. There is a sequel, which I may check out in the future.
I picked the book up at a thrift shop and have had it on my bookshelf for a while.

Halfway through Same as It Ever Was too and also enjoying it. Her writing is sharp and descriptive. I didn’t know there was a new J. Courtney Sullivan and Taffy BA coming out, that’s great!

Just started Hello Beautiful.

Just finished All Fours, Help Wanted, and a garbagy but fun Ruth Ware. (I’ve been sick, but fortunately not to sick to read!)

Listened to a podcast the other day about a woman in 1990 who claimed she got AIDS from her dentist and basically the CDC and NIH researched it and the claim was credible though nobody to this day knows how he infected her. Anyway, that made me interested in the AIDS crisis broadly so I’m reading And the Band Played On right now. Also bought Solario which is a memoir of a man who emigrated to the U.S. from El Salvador at age 9.
