Currently have a planet fitness membership for $30/month which is… fine.
I think I would have better workouts with more game like workout, so looking at a sports club with racquetball (which I played a bit when younger) and indoor tennis and pools. One thing that is attractive is my kids can play tennis and racquetball with me (they esp like tennis right now) and use the pools etc. on crazy hot or cold rainy days, this is a nice way to get everyone moving. however it’s a bit further from the house. It’s way more expensive, $180/month and I hesitate to take the plunge esp since likely will have contract. How much do most people who are weekly exercises spend? I’ve been to lifetime and it seems packed, so a fairly big number? But I’ve never spent more than $40/month! |
Or is it that gyms like lifetime are corporate perks? |
Uh, you’re looking for a country club.
For a family membership with gym, pool, tennis and racquetball in the dc area I would think 1k per month for something decent. If there is no 20-100k initiation fee you got a deal. I live in Arlington and pay 120 a month for gym; it has a hot tub and sauna. No pool, no courts and I do not have a family. |
Anyone know what a family membership at the St. James is running? |
What, no way. McLean OneLife is about $200/month for 3 family members. Pool. Indoor tennis. Racquet sports. Fitness center. You pay a small fee to reserve tennis courts. |
I love st James but it’s far from us. |
$120 for a basic gym seems crazy? Is that a boutique like Crunch or something. |
How much is McLean Tennis and Racquet for a family? |
Some where in $300s |
