Am I the only one with bare nails?

Everyone has those acrylic things on… does anyone else have bare nails?

Yes, I have bare nails. I ended the acrylic in 2020 and it was the single most liberating thing that I have done. No more appointments. No chips, no fixing a nail. I can file them any time.

Me too. Bare fingernails, colorful toenails. The long pointy claws may be trendy, but I find them super unattractive.

Bare nails on hands polish on toes

I had bare nails for 40 years. Just tried paint on thick gel and so far a fan. 3 weeks and no chips. Most of my friends do quick stick ons for fun.

At my shop, most people get the SNS dip. For me, it just looks like gel nail polish, but it fortifies my nail. My nails are super thin and would break and I end up biting g or peeling them. So now my nails look better, are more healthy and I felt gross biting my nails. Mine never chip, but I get a retouch every 3 weeks.

When I get them done, and I see my natural nails groomed and bare and long, I am soneyines tempted to just get a regular manicure and wait the SNS. So the last time . I got a very clear light pink which my daughter says looks natural and fits me well; that will probably be my go-to for the rest of the summer at least

How old are you OP? None of my peers (mid 40s-early 50s professional women) get acrylics. Few even get regular manicures. Many of my younger gen-z colleagues however do seem to have the pointed/almond acrylic nails.

Mine are bare like 95% of the time. I have SNS right now because I was in the mood for a fun summer color, but I don’t get tips because I cannot stand having long nails. I really don’t have any desire to get my nails done regularly, it feels like a chore IMO.

I have never been a regular fingernail polish person. I might do it once in a while, but honestly, I can't think of the last time I did. It has been years.

I do wear polish on my toes though.

I do. I would never do acrylics because my nails are already weak and I know I wouldn't have the motivation to get them filled on a regular basis. But I do wish I kept them painted. I love the way a light pink looks. Oh well, maybe someday I'll be on the ball.

I always have bare fingernails, but I have to say you asking this question in that way sounds pretty annoying.

40s, bare finger nails.

I used to get pedicures regularly pre-pandemic. But once COVID hit, I got out of that habit too.

51, lawyer, totally bare nails. I don’t know any professional woman that gets acrylics. Some pant their nails but I do not.

Same.

I also don’t have pierced ears.

I like the way earrings look but not enough to bother with them.

I don’t use the acrylic nails but mostly use a nail veil that just gives a bit of color
