rec. indian and italian near south arlington please :)

Not the same restaurant, of course! We have been trying to find a good Indian restaurant - especially a moderately priced one where we could get takeout during the week. We went to Aroma (I think it's called?) in Shirlington for takeout the other night and it was pricey and not very good. My chicken korma was SO spicy, which it's not supposed to be.
Also- what about Italian recs? Again, moderately priced would be the best. Just a place where we could go and get some delicious pasta! |

| We used to live in Rosslyn and got take out from Tandoori Nights all the time. It's in Clarendon, so not exactly S Arlington, but we loved it. |

By a wide margin, Haandi, in Falls Church on Route 7. Delhi Club in Clarendon is also pretty decent. Both are much better than Aroma, which I always find to lack subtlety. I think Tandoori Nights is ok but would rank it after Haandi and Delhi Club for food (although the ambiance is very nice. The food at Minerva Express is good but the place is so darn filthy I won't eat from there again.

| I should also say that Haandi is pretty expensive but they give you huge portions for takeout, so I always get an extra rice and then make 3-4 meals out of curry dish. |

For Italian try that Pizzaiolo (sp?) Cafe on Fern place. It's great!
For Indian, Delhi club in Clarendon is pretty good. |

| Delhi Club does the buffet but only on weekends. |
