How to split a potpie into veggie and chicken?

Anonymous
I'm making a pot pie tonight for four people. I am a vegetarian, and everyone else eats meat. I've prepared the filling in two batches, one that is veggies only and one that has chicken mixed with veggies. Any advice on how to split the pie so that my section can contain mainly the veggie filler and the other sections get the meat mixture? Is there something I could use to set off a quarter of it - I was thinking about using some pie crust but I don't think this would work. Any other ideas? It's not the end of the world if I get a piece or two of chicken in my section, but I don't want to spend the whole evening picking chicken out of my food.

Thanks for any advice!

I'd just cook in two separate dishes.

I agree with the PP. Aren't you using chicken broth, too?

OP here. I'm not sure whether I've got the right sized pie pans to do two, but I'll try - seems like the only solution. No, I don't use chicken broth - I used veggie broth for the whole thing and just added the chicken to one portion of the filling.
Thanks for suggestions.

It does seem like the easiest thing to do would be to make a smaller one for yourself. Sorry...wish I had better advice.

Cut it in half?

Why not a large veggie pot pie, and the meat eaters can be served chicken breasts on the side?

I would do yours in a little pyrex container, put crust on the bottom and top like in the pie dish, just smaller

OP here. Thanks to everyone who responded. I ended up making one big pie. I made the filling a bit thicker than usual and when I put it in the two kinds, they pretty much "stayed" on their sides. I cut a thin line to mark off my section and put a big initial on it so I would know it was mine. It worked great! I ended up having to pick out only one piece of chicken.

You are not a vegetarian.

Ugh I hate it when people call themselves vegetarians when they do things like pick chicken out of a dish and keep on eating. Makes people think its okay to serve all vegetarians chicken because they can just pick it out.

I was waiting for the snarky post. Didn't take too long at all.

I think Tony was talking about you (NOT the OP, who seems very reasonable):

"Vegetarians, and their Hezbollah-like splinter faction, the vegans ... are the enemy of everything good and decent in the human spirit."

OP here. You are absolutely right! I should have pushed back my meal in disgust and shouted, "There is meat in my dish! Behead the chef!"

Good grief!

Which would have meant you'd be calling for someone to remove your own head. Also, not to nitpick (OK, maybe I will) isn't consuming a chicken potpie (even if you don't eat the actual piece of carcass) basically eating meat? I mean the whole thing is swimming in chicken juices if chicken is in the dish. Just wondering.
