I am not a baker and want to buy a good berry pie for a Memorial Day cookout. Where can I find good ones in DC/MoCo/NoVa.

Thanks!

TBH, I toyed with it every now and again when I lived in DC. The reality is that fresh fruit is costly and the assembling is time consuming, even if I can move pretty quickly with weaving a lattice, etc. Just couldn't figure out how to do without charging what may feel like an obscene amount, so I brought them to dinner parties, picnics, and lucky friends.

They said close in burb. Can’t get closer than Arlington.

Fox Hollow Farm in MoCo makes great pies. They have a seasonal menu. Strawberries pies should be just around the corner.

Breads Unlimited in downtown Bethesda does a good pie. You may need to pre-order though.

These pies are delicious and the best pies I’ve had in the “DC area” - just not sure Occoquan counts as DC area as it is not very close to drive for a pie.

The Pie Shop in DC has yummy pies in interesting flavors.

The place in Arlington is now on my list to try!

I think Breads Unlimited (which is a great bakery), Bread Furst, Praline, Tout de Sweet, Wagshals, etc only offer pies around holidays - I’ve checked many area bakeries through the years and this is usially the response I’ve gotten. Henry’s Sweet Retreat might have year round pies, you could check there.

I should have named it for others - Mom’s Apple Pie Co. I love our and have tried all the places. None are good and many are also ridiculously expensive (looking at you, Livin’ the Pie Life).
