Bullying in FCPS (Churchill)

How does FCPS (specifically Churchill) deal with bullying? Have you been happy? Or should I pull to private/Catholic (have heard it’s not much better in these schools) Don’t want to get into specifics

No knowledge specifically about Churchill, but in our experience FCPS does absolutely nothing about bullying, particularly if the bullies are popular and excel at sucking up to administrators.

At our school, one teacher is actually a bully to her students.

Your best bet is to ask them to move your student to another class. The school is under the obligation to protect both students which causes a lot of trouble in these situations.

Are you talking specifically about pulling a kid out of Churchill or just not sending a kid there?

Which grade? Did you contact the classroom teacher?

We have this at our school also. The one absolutely egregious bully was let go after her 3 year probationary period of whatever it was, which was a huge relief. Unfortunately there's still at least one teacher who thinks effective classroom management is yelling at the kids who care until they're regularly in tears.

As far as kid-on-kid bullying, the administration has sort of attempting to do something, but it's all so ineffective they might as well have done nothing.

Here is a large part of why they do nothing:

Try to figure out a way to handle it now. Cooper is 10Xs worse and a lot of it happens online. The school really cannot do anything to stop it. So many parents have just given up.
