My 12 year old is just about done with kids sizes (size 16-18 now). He has larger thighs and we’ve had trouble finding boxer briefs that he likes and fit. He complains they ride up. I’m assuming he should try a size small in men’s? Any recommendations for brands that don’t ride up in the middle for larger than average thighs?
I’ve bought a few but it’s annoying to keep on buying and returning if they don’t fit. |
Uncool answer, but he would likely find regular briefs much more comfortable |
Yes try mens small. My has been wearing these since age 13 and likes them:

Hanes mens small boxer briefs. Those got an a+ from my athletic build 12 yo |
Under armour |
We considered briefs as suggested. He also complains about his thighs chaffing so I’m assuming boxer briefs might work better! |
Old Navy |
Uniqlo! |
My DS only likes the Calvin Klein boxer briefs, men's small, in ether the sports version or the cotton. He thinks Hanes is too thick and hot. YMMV. |
Try boxers not boxer briefs if they're riding up. |
This is what my 13 year old wears. |
My son likes Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein cotton boxer briefs. I buy them at Nordstrom. He has now started wearing regular boxers quite a bit too. He likes that they aren’t tight at all on his legs. His legs are normal sized (not skinny and not super muscular). I would try the brands I listed and also buy a pack of regular boxers too. |
