Check out 826DC on THIS Saturday!

Curious about 826DC's space? Looking for a fun way to get creative? We're having a free, all-ages, drop-in open house event this Saturday, May 11th, 2024!
Drop in anytime between 11 AM and 2 PM.
We've been in Columbia Heights for fourteen years now.
826DC has remained a bit of a mystery to the community, though, and most of you haven't had the chance to set foot in our space!
It's time to change that.

Come explore the 826DC writing center and our magic shop, try out some activities from our free youth writing and publishing programs, and learn more about how you can get involved here.

Activities Galore
You'll get a map with info about 826DC and the space, plus the locations of various activity stations:
Making a zine
Writing an ode
Crafting a card
Binding a book
Taking a self-guided tour
Discovering your next favorite local author

If you have any questions or would like to volunteer, please email Sarah Richman, 826DC's Associate Director of Communications and Development.

Getting Here
826DC's main entrance is through the Tivoli's Astounding Magic Supply Co. door on Park Ave NW, between Dave's Hot Chicken and Giant, just across the street from the Columbia Heights farmer's market.

Our space is up one flight of stairs. If you need an elevator, go for our official address just around the corner, at 3333 14th Street NW, Suite M-120.

Masks are welcome but not required.

Can't join us?
That's ok! Mark your calendars for our next event: a Young Writer Showcase on June 12th, 4 PM to 6 PM at the MLK library.

More details to come.
