Milestone birthday present

Anonymous
I have a milestone birthday coming up and my husband and kids keep asking me what I want. I really don't need anything but I think they really want to get me something. We are already going on a nice vacation (I usually ask for experiences) and my husband has quietly said this is a big deal for the kids to get me something I want.

Budget $500-800.

I have thought of diamond earrings, a nice bracelet, a designer wallet but beyond that- I have no ideas. Help (with links would be helpful)

I’d pick some special jewelry so that you can always remember them when you wear it!

Save for a real peice of jewlery. $800 is nothing in this economy.

Tell us 3-5 things you like!

I think jewelry would be meaningful and something you will have forever (unlike a bag or a wallet). What kind of jewelry do you like? Yellow gold, white metals, gemstones, etc? What's your style so people can suggest ideas?

Can be books, art, music, TV shows, shoes, hobbies, anything that you enjoy.

I like going to the national gallery for new exhibits, like casual restaurants with good food, like to travel, prefer white gold/silver, favorite color is green, style is probably slightly bohemian but always confortable

LOL- sounds like there’s an extra premium for those buying a “peice of jewlery”

A nice gold locket with photos of kids and hubby in it. The kids will enjoy picking photos and figuring out how to print them out tiny.

Search locket at Nieman Marcus and there are a bunch in that price range. I like this one:

Oh I see you don’t like gold, maybe this one then.
Plus the photos inside get them to engrave the back with the date they gave it to you, or something—the milestone birthday
The kids will enjoy the engraving process too

I’m a big fan of jewelry in the few hundred dollar range like John Mederias and Uno de 50.
