What happens if you miss too many days of a summer school class?

Does it show up on your transcript as a fail? Does it show up at all if you don't complete the credit or credit recovery?
Anonymous
Yes, it will show up.

My friend had a contentious divorce during Covid. She signed her kids up for online summer school and her estranged husband didn’t make the older child (rising 10th) do it on his days and wouldn’t give the younger one (rising 8th) computer/internet access. Both failed.

Why would a student be missing summer school classes?

it depends on the day they were dropped. I think after the 1st week.

I hope she got custody after that.

Tons of reasons:

They forget.
They don’t want to go and parents are working and can’t enforce.
They attend all but the one scheduled during a family trip, camp, work or other activity.

On and on and on

Yes. My son ended up getting ill. It moves so fast it’s hard to catch up. He failed.

Why would you friend sign them up without consulting Dad?

I hope she didn't get custody as she wasn't willing to work with Dad. She should have consulted him.

Depends on the class. DD took tech and missed a few classes. They gave video instructions for assignments but she did not know how to do a few assignments. She ended up with a B.

I could definitely see how you can fail by not showing up to class in different subjects.
