what rain shoes with slightly cropped, straight legged jeans

Anonymous
Heading on a Seattle trip next week and want to be prepared for rain. My favorite, go-to jeans are at/slightly above ankle length straight legged jeans and I plan to wear them a lot. My typical rain shoes are duck boots, which I think won’t hit at the right place with this jean style (duck boots work with leggings and akinny jeans, which I’ve retired haha). Looking for wet weather shoe suggestions with my jeans (I’ll be walking a lot in them) - thanks!

Duck boots are fine. But also, blundstones are made for this. So comfy. And cute with ankle pants

PNW native here.

Are you hiking? Just walking around town?

Blundstone's are always a good bet. Or any hiking-style sneaker, really. Seattle is very relaxed/sporty, so you'd be fine the vast majority of places.

I've never found that I need special footwear though, really, unless out hiking or knowing I'd be splashing through puddles for hours.

Op here - thanks, posters. I am doing some hiking but have hiking boots for that. I want waterproof shoes to wear with jeans/sweater when walking around the city - I expect we’ll be walking about for much of the day, and if it is very rainy, then my tennis shoes, which would be my usual go-to shoe in that context, would become soaked.

Seriously? There's no need to buy anything. It's not going to rain enough to need dedicated rain shoes. On the very off chance it does for a bit, wear your duck boots, which look fine with straight leg jeans.

I'd just do a pair of leather sneakers like Vejas or something similar and you should be fine.

I totally disagree with some PPs. You need a waterproof/resistant shoe or it just feels disgusting once your socks are wet inside. Blundstones or like a water-resistant trail/hiking sneaker sound perfect.

Don't know the weather this week but Seattle rain is often less heavy than the rainstorms we get here. Do there will be a lot not days of rain but often it's just misty.

I like the idea of blundstones but if it were me on vacation I'd probably just bring my hiking boots since I'd likely be hiking at some point in the trip and like to pack light.
