My 12 year old son has a few dark moles on his face. They aren’t huge, but they are definitely prominent and noticeable. He has asked to have them removed. Honestly, if they were in my face, I’d want them removed too. Would you let him do it at this age or ask him to wait? Would a plastic surgeon even do this for a 12 year old? |
Derm can do this. |
Yes definitely do this Op |
A dermatologist could remove them easily. |
Yes, my mom insisted on having one removed when I was 12 ( I was too clueless to care). Use a plastic surgeon for the face though. |
Do it now! We took DS to a pediatric plastic surgeon because the mole was big (a benign). But every pede, derm, surgeon said do it sooner rather later. |
This was us with DS at 11. He did not care, but I expected he’d care in time. And derms said it would just get bigger, darker, and hairy with puberty. |
Yes I would take him to a good dermo. |
I agree with the others, I'd make an appt. now with a dermatologist to at least discuss it. |
Plastic instead of a derm but yes. My derm sent me to a plastic to have a cancerous mole removed from my face. Plastics are who you want for face. |
How is this even a question? If you can afford it, do it. |
Why would you wait? |
Yes I would |
Yes do it. My dd had one removed around thst age and so did I. My dd was being bullied and called a ' witch' which is pretty mean. No problems |
Please go to a plastic surgeon, not a derm. Derms will not necessarily do a beautiful job and it’s his face. BTDT. Get your derm to recommend a good plastic surgeon. You actually want to do this now before he grows—the moles may get bigger in adolescence. |
