St. Albans to Dartmouth

Is St. Albans a Feeder school for Dartmouth College

No school in the DMV area is a feeder for Dartmouth. For any given year a school may get more kids admitted than prior years but those years would be outliers.

No, but acceptance is historically extremely high (really 100%) for a tiny number of boys at the top of the class (per Naviance which is entirely green). Other elite colleges are more 50/50 or 25/75 for boys like this.

The local interviewer for Dartmouth is a Landon grad and is very familiar with the local private schools in the area. He interviews most of the private school kids and has a very good view of the landscape and who is applying from which schools. His recommendations seem to carry a good amount of sway. Our DC really enjoyed interviewing with him and we think his recommendation went a long way in her acceptance.

There is only one local interviewer?

Are you the poster who keeps asking about Dartmouth feeders in different posts?

If you attend a Big3 DC private you can almost count on it--if you graduate top 2 in your class. Which means you get perfect grades in the very top classes in a cohort of super smart kids who are all trying to get these same grades. Plus you have a healthy dose of luck. Really hard to do but someone has to do it. My kids (no dummies) tried and like 98% of the class they fell short.

Other than this tiny cohort, a Dartmouth spot is the same lottery as anywhere else.

Dartmouth is basically an extension to St Albans; the experience would be pretty similar. Not sure why anyone would want that.
