Dance classes for teen beginner

Anonymous
I know that many of your kids have been dancing since they were 3 and believe it’s way too late for her. However, my 16 year old wants to learn something new—lyrical, jazz, musical theater type dancing….any suggestions where a “old” newbie can start? We live in MoCo.

Bethesda Conservatory of Dance has a fabulous program for exactly this.

Can she take it as a HS elective?

Rock Creek Dance Academy - has lots of options and all ages. And not crazy intense parents

She really should have, but she fulfilled her PE credits as a freshman and has mapped out her jr and sr year already.

Can't recommend this school. Honestly surprised to hear they are still open. I would have thought they would have collapsed by now. The YMCA has better quality classes at a fraction of the cost.

100% disagree with this. It's a much smaller scale than the big schools and has a great program. Teachers are talented, dedicated, and great with dancers of all abilities and ages
