Who removes /installs new built in cooktop?

Anonymous
We currently have a built-in gas cooktop that we want to get rid of and replace with induction. Home Depot does not install or remove built in appliances. We know we need to have a plumber turn off the gas line and cap it, but we can’t do that until the cooktop is up and out and we don’t know how to get it out.

What sort of provider should I be searching for to help with this sort of thing? Thank you.

Are you getting a new countertop? Our counter guy installed all our appliances when we got new countertops. Double oven, dishwasher, undercounter refrigerator, cooktop and exhaust fan. He did all of it.

Can you recommend your counter person/ company? We are open to changing the counter top too.

um, do you have the power nearby to replace gas with induction? an induction cooktop will require a 240V circuit. depending on where your electrical panel is, and whether you have any empty breakers, you may need some significant electrical work for that.

also, for removing old and putting in new, this is a case where you want a small local appliance shop that does installation. Call M&M appliance, or ABW, and ask about installation services. After you figure out how much work the electrician will need to do.

A small contractor or handy person could probably do a job like this.

I'd use licensed plumbers, electricians, gas contractors. No some guy with a truck handyman. Maybe find a company with both?

We switch from electric to gas and Tops of the Town in Rockville did the countertop and installation of all the appliances. He worked with our licensed electrician to add new breaker for double oven and cooktop. He also recommended a licensed plumber to do the gas line.

We bought our induction stove from Bray and Scarf. They arranged for the electrician to come out to run a new line as well as removing the old gas stove and installing the induction (both built-ins).
