My 10 year old is considering a pool party for when she turns 11. Her birthday is at the end of August, but we may not be able to celebrate until Labor Day or after. Where cab we host the party? We live in NW DC and don’t belong to any country club.
Thanks |
Rec center? |
Cub Run indoor waterpark in Chantilly.
Rent a party room. Pretty inexpensive. |
Thanks! Is there an outdoor option? |
No outdoor option at Cub Run Chantilly Rec center |
The NOVA Parks system has a bunch of waterparks that do birthday parties. https://www.novaparks.com/waterparks/great-waves-waterpark/parties |
We went to a pool party once at a pool rented on swimply, like Airbnb but for pools. Check the listings carefully since some are clear that parties aren't allowed. And I recommend keeping it small and/or enlisting help (ideally a lifeguard) to watch the kids. |
Thanks! I saw this option now. Would people feel weird about having a party at some random people’s house? This sounds like an ideal scenario for us because we can “rent” the whole pool. |
Also looking for a location for my 9 year old’s bday pool party. I can’t get over the idea of inviting kids to someone else’s pool. Are there community pools that offer rental prior to opening? We did this once during Covid in northern Virginia but I’m in Montgomery County so would need somewhere closer |
Like from 8-10? That would be too early for a birthday party… |
YMCA if you (or a close relative) are a member |
During COVID, the community pool didn’t open until noon so we were able to book a private party from 10-noon |
