Are there not that many women like me who prefer swimsuits with shorts style coverage on the bottom?

I feel so much more comfortable if I can cover the top of my thighs, I like the vintage swimsuit look and it reduces the need to keep on top of regular bikini waxes. It's not impossible to find but it feels like there are limited options in this style. Am I just weird?

I have worn a rash guard and shorts to the pool for 8 years now. Youre not the only one.

There are tons of swim shorts options out there.

I like skirts for similar reasons .

No I love them. I also mainly wear rash guards to protect my skin from the sun (as do my kids) if I will be at the beach or pool all day . Also, I feel more comfortable running/splashing around more with my kids with more coverage.

Athleta has great ones.

Ok , some of us take price in our appearance and work out

I very much prefer this style and even as a kid wondered why guys got to wear shorts for casual swimming and we "had to" wear something so much more revealing.

Weird flex. Many of the other moms at the pool I see wearing short type bathing suits with me are the ones running around or playing volleyball, and gasp, we work out and are quite fit.

OP here, yeah, not me. I mean I do work out but have never been one to prioritize having a swimsuit ready body or my appearance in general. I love things that make my life easier.

OP here - exactly! Yes, these suits exist, it's just I so much prefer them and certain major stores have zero options in this style.

I just flipped through a Lands End catalog that had these last night.

No such thing as a swimsuit body. It's a normal body and should be BMI ,18-22, sad

OP here, not that matters since BMI is a made up measure (waist size is more informative), but my BMI happens to be squarely in the normal range.

I also much prefer them -- you don't need to worry as much about waxing, you don't feel like you're walking around in underwear (especially if you're going thru a hotel lobby, walking into town for an ice cream, hanging out with your teen son's friends, etc.), and they are way more practical for things like snorkeling, paddle-boarding, etc. Because of the trends in paddleboarding, kayaking, waterslides and such, there are a lot of athletic brands that sell them. Title IX has them. I really like the athleta ones. I also have the lands end ones, and they are okay, but not as comfortable as the athleta ones that I have. The Lands end swimsuits are all made out of some sort of iron fabric that is designed to suck you all in, and also wear well over years, but is just not as comfortable as some of the cheaper swimsuit material. My teen had the Title IX ones and they looked good.

My preferred, most comfy swim combo, especially for things like the beach or snorkeling where I'll be out all day, is swim shorts, a bra style bikini top, and a rash guard tee. I barely need any sun screen and it's just like comfy workout clothes.

I have a great body (5’6, 115lbs) and MUCH prefer a bike short style bottom and have since my 20s.
