Would it be crazy to have two different pediatric groups for two siblings?

We just moved and are getting settled. With waitlists at some offices for those initial visits, has anyone tried life with two different Pediatrician’s?

Ages are 5 and 10

I often ended up with two kids who had shared germs and both needed a sick visit. I would not want to have to coordinate two different offices.

Similarly, I wouldn't want to have to go to two visits for flu shots.

You can try both and switch to the one you like better

This is logistics nightmare. No pick one and go there. And if you can’t get a register for school one at the closer one, then go somewhere else and then do annuals/sick visits at the other.

I probably wouldn’t unless that’s the only option. My pediatric dentist decided they only want to take kids 12 and under so they said my 13 year old couldn’t be their patient anymore. We’ve only had one visit with her at the new dentist and my other two at the old dentist and it’s already annoying so we’re going to switch the younger two as well. And that’s usually only once every six months, I think I would hate having to go to two doctors for sick visits.

Why would you do this? This makes absolutely no sense. Pick one and wait. If the kid gets sick before then use urgent care.

We are actually doing 2 different ones currently. DD is 10, and she is going to the same pediatrician as she has when she was born. We moved 2 years ago and had DS last year, and we decided to start him at the pediatrician that is walkable from our house.

Our plan is to eventually switch DD to the same as DS, but we just haven’t gotten around to it yet. She doesn’t need to go to the doctor often, so we will probably do it at her well visit next year. It honestly hasn’t been that much of a logistical issue, but mainly because DD almost never gets sick.
