Texas man files legal action to probe ex-partner’s abortion

Anonymous
Here we go folks. What all you Republicans jauntily assured us would never happen. A Texas man has launched a petition to probe his ex-partner’s out of state trip to see if it was to get an abortion and claims he can sue everyone involved under the state’s wrongful death statute or the Texas law that allows private citizens to file suit against anyone who “aids and abets” abortion.

This is how it starts making it illegal for women to travel out of state to get abortions.

How much you want to bet he is a domestic abuser? Thank god the woman broke free of him.

Imagine a man raping someone and then suing to prevent her from getting an abortion. This is the world Republicans want.

“Fathers of aborted fetuses can sue for wrongful death in states with abortion bans, even if the abortion occurs out-of-state,” he wrote. “They can sue anyone who paid for the abortion, anyone who aided or abetted the travel, and anyone involved in the manufacture or distribution of abortion drugs.”

In the Davis case, Mitchell is attempting to depose the woman who had the abortion, along with several other people he writes may be “complicit” in the abortion. If deposed, they would be asked about others involved in the abortion, including any abortion funds or any other entities that provided financial support, according to court records. They would also have to provide all documentation relevant to the abortion.

You have to wonder who is funding his court battle. The average person doesn’t have thousands of dollars to bring this to court. I hope the woman “does not recall.” It works for Trump.

Or, just making it illegal for women to travel out of state without a guard, whoops, a man responsible for her.

Say he tries to sue a clinic in New Mexico. Would that survive a motion to dismiss?

Do you have evidence that the woman was a victim of domestic abuse or was raped?
Seems to me you are making huge assumptions.

PP didn’t claim he was a domestic abuser or a rapist. She just said “imagine.” Like imagine a world in which Republicans weren’t all women-hating harridans.

Nah, the Leonard Leo Kourt of Krazy Katholics will let anything slide. He paid for it; they just do what he says so anything goes if you’re a forced birther!

This is what OP said....

"How much you want to bet he is a domestic abuser? Thank god the woman broke free of him.
Imagine a man raping someone and then suing to prevent her from getting an abortion."

I am asking OP for evidence of her accusations.

What kind of evidence is needed to show that the plaintiff is the father? How would it be gathered? Is it DNA? Something else?

Well, I think we all understand why she needed to get an abortion!

I would say the fact he’s trying to sue her over the abortion is per se evidence that he is a domestic abuser.
