Heard the boys at blessed sacrament are bullying each other and being really cruel over social media. Why do 4th graders even have access to phones etc. |
Kids who have access to phones don't need to use social media. You can block the apps on your child's phone. Why do parents allow this? re they using snapchat at this young age? |
I heard it was the girls |
Bullying through email?!?
More details, OP. |
Which BS? VA or MD
Also who's giving their kids phones at his young age? Haven't you read the Anxious Generation, no phones until 14 |
If everyone in MS does this, it is easy. If your kid is the only one without a phone, it is harder. |
A surprising large percentage of DCUM, unfortunately. |
Bullying at Blessed Sacrament did not start with social media. I know several adults who went there and were bullied in the 90's |
Love all these posts from OPs who “heard something.”
Seems very much like middle school gossiping. |
Phones aren't the problem, the behavior is. Sounds like its a parenting issue. |
If you have a child who is active with sports & activities, then phones are needed before age 14 for safety reasons. My daughter is in 7th at SR and pretty much the entire class has phones. At this age, they are dropped off for sports, school events, dances, etc and a phone is essential to stay in contact. |
Not if the school is communicating properly. Our k-8 didn’t allow phones to be used on school property for any events, including after-hours socials, sport practices or games/meets, or anything else. The school told parents where and when to drop off and pickup, and provided the name, email, and phone # for a teacher or staff member acting as the point of contact for the event. If you needed different timing, the parent coordinated that with the school contact. If a kid wanted to leave early they asked a staff member for permission to use the front desk phone. We never had any issues or need for our kid to have a phone during the school day or afterschool activities and events. We did give DC a phone during the summer before 8th grade, but they never needed it to communicate with us about school activities. |
BS bullying is a way of life. |
Catholic school sucks. Was forced to go for 12 years. My kids are in private but the Catholics aren't getting my kids. |
We’ve found the Apple Watch adequate - no need for a phone |
