Am I missing something?? I get no service on campus. Why? What do you do when you're on campus? |
We had to switch from Verizon to AT&T. Had zero service with Verizon which was odd. |
This is interesting. I've had this problem before with Verizon at various locations over the years. It would be really hard to switch...ugh! |
This seems to happen a lot. SSSAS has pretty bad reception too, and I have AT&T. I don’t think it presents a problem for the school itself because students and staff put their devices on the school’s network, but parents and visitors have trouble. |
I have AT&T and no issues. |
It was a pain. I couldn't even text my kid if I need to find him after school or practice though, or be on my phone or computer if i was there waiting for him/at a game, etc. ATT or Tmobile, anything on that network works evidently. This is all through my kid and friends but we have been fine with service since we switched. (There are now other weird dead spots around the city but at least not at school.) |
Same thing at my son's school. It is not that uncommon. It's obviously for the kids but sometimes affects parents. |
It's not the school's fault. Often the surrounding neighborhood won't add cell towers. Schools try to add boosters around campus but it is what it is. |
Supposedly the flag pole at SJC is a booster for AT&T. The location by rock creek park is part of the challenge, too. Things have been better with Verizon this last year than in previous years. If I’m by Cassidy Commons or some spots in the north lot, I’ve been able to call my kid successfully. |
This really odd. I live a block away from SJC and frequently walk my dog around the school. Zero issues with Verizon. |
