High school boundary

If you move into the boundary of another high school does your kid (sophomore, junior or senior) have to switch schools?

it depends on the policy in your school district. check there. we don't even know which district you're in so no one can answer your question.

In general, contact principal at current HS and get there "buy-in" and have them help get in touch w/appropriate personnel at School Board to approve.

In Arlington, generally yes (assuming your current school is not an option school, of course). They can likely finish out the year at their current school if it's late in the school year; but they are expected to move to their assigned school. If they are currently a junior and have been at their current school all three years, you can ask to be able to stay or apply for a neighborhood transfer if that school accepts neighborhood transfers. The answer may very well be "no" unless there's a compelling reason or situation for them to stay.
