College graduation gifts

Anonymous
Any recommendations on gifts for college graduation? Not looking to spend more than $75-100. If it matters, it’s a woman who will be starting a job in a new city. I prefer not to give money or a gift card. We are just entering the phase of knowing college graduates and have no sense of what the norm is. Thanks for any suggestions!

Does she have a work bag? you can stretch to 300 or so I’d get her something simple like Tumi or Tory Burch Perry.
Otherwise a journal, pen, and Kate spade lunch bag would be about 75

I know you said no gift cards - but I know kids who have loved gift cards for restaurants in their new city. YMMV.

We are writing a check to nephew graduating from college this spring.

I'm female and all the women I chat with at my office are always talking about good moisturizers and lip balms. The air is really dry in our office. So maybe some fancy moisturizer?

New graduates prefer money, give them what they want.

A nice (on sale if needed for said budget, usually can get something good for $125, but lower priced items pop up) All-Clad pot or pan w/lid. Something they could use for lots of different purposes. If moving to a new city, have it delivered there.

And?
I would just do cash instead of spinning your wheels trying to find something. I can barely purchase things my college age daughters like knowing them...they tend to be particular at that age.

I like this idea. It’s a really nice item the parents will gladly hold onto if the kid foolishly doesn’t. Doesn’t take a risk on taste like a bag or jewelry. Likely to keep long term.

I prefer not to give cash or gift cards too but I do want them to get something they like or need so I go with Amazon gift cards.

College kids would prefer to pick out their own stuff. If you buy a bag that is your style they will be stuck with that thing they don't want

How close are you to the graduate? If it were me I would rather money or nothing.

If someone gave me any of your gifts particularly toilet paper, soap or vegetables I would think you think I am homeless.

Do not buy jeqelry or gas gift cards! Good grief!
