Besides NOLS and Outward Bound, what are some quality wilderness expedition companies that accept college students?

I did two expeditions with Earthwatch as a teen (16 and 17). It used to be everyone (16 through adult) was all together. Now it looks like they also have teen programming so, depending on the age of a college student, they could probably do either. The focus is science but some are quite rugged / wilderness based. (My brother did one years ago that was a few weeks in a virgin pine forest in Canada.) |
College aged people are adults so ... ? |
OB and NOLS are sort of the OGs of that industry. My 18yo daughter's done those plus Earthwatch, one of the teen programs -- there are tons of adult options.
Might also look into High Mountain Institute (https://hminet.org/hmi-gap/gap-and-college/) if they're looking for an expedition that caters to that age, vs anyone over 18. |
Maybe Intrepid Travel |
Nevermind, not wilderness enough |
I’m this pp. I just remembered Teton Science School. I wonder if they might have a program that works. |
Oh stop. |
Are you looking for gap year program? HMI is a terrific program with gap year options. |
