SEC recent job openings

| Hi, I am wondering why there haven't been any recent openings from SEC for months , specially for quantitative positions. I have been checking for a few months. Can anyone shed some light on this? |

Congress didn't authorize more money. Government spending is flat until the next budget (in theory Oct 2024 but LOL). You might think that "flat" means you can replace people who leave. But, because the cost of everything else goes up and the budget didn't, you actually have to take the money from any vacant positions and put it toward other stuff, such as rent, internet, and the salaries of people who haven't left. |
