Courseload too much?

Anonymous
DD’s high school doesn’t offer any AP physics courses but they do offer IB physics. DD completed regular physics this year and wants to take another higher level physics class next year. However, she also has the option of taking AP chemistry.

Should she take both? Is that courseload too much? Or should she just take one (if so, which one)?

She is going to be a physics/math major.

She can take both. I might recommend not taking AP English or Government that year but there is no reason she can’t do both science courses (DS is taking AP Physics 1, AP Chem, and Multivar/linear Algebra this year and is managing fine).

Both of my kids took 2 AP sciences during their senior year. If your kid wants to do so and is capable, then I don't see the issue. (My kids took 4-5 AP classes during their senior year.)
