communication among schools and MySchool Q

Does anyone know if MySchool alerts a school if someone matched to attend enrolls elsewhere? Or does the school figure out on May 2nd that the offer wasn't accepted when paperwork isn't yet sumitted?

Just decline the offer in myschooldc! You don't even have to call the school to decline, just to accept

Sorry. The question is more about how/why there is waitlist movement before May 2. Was wondering if schools can give away a spot if declined officially or if they get rolling alerts kids have enrolled elsewhere.

Yes. It’s on the My School FAQs. “By accepting a waitlist offer and enrolling your child at that school, you give up your child’s previous placement. Your child will be removed from all waitlists at schools ranked below the enrolled school, as well as their current school.”

They get rolling alerts only when a student finalizes enrollment elsewhere. They do not receive alerts when you match or are offered a spot.
