Expired Tags-Street Parking

Anonymous
For about 5 months, I’ve noticed a neighbor’s car parked (presumably in front of his house) on an already narrow street. Fine. I get it, he has a big family and multiple cars, as do I. Sometimes we have to park in the street.

Upon closer look, this car hasn’t moved an inch and in fact has expired tags.

I sent him an email tonight very kindly letting him know that tags are expired and he should move it.

AITA?

If he doesn’t move the car, how long to before I call parking enforcement-police?

I am really a very quiet and unassuming neighbor and not at all a problematic person.

Since you seem to want to go full in on being an a-hole, why not just get it done now and have home towed?

I’m guessing you have reasons for doing it that I cannot comprehend. From your description it’s not like any issues with spaces or any way blocking you. But some people just like to be a jerk.

What do you think the outcome will be? A.) they pay the registration and the car stays; B.) they move it to their parking pad and park a different car on the street; or C.) they do nothing, even if the car is ticketed, and in DC nothing happens as they never tow. In what universe do they get rid of the car? So what have you accomplished?
