Instagram is full of the same tourist traps. Any suggestions for your favorite restaurants in Rome? Will have 2 adults + 2 teens who love all food and are not picky at all + 1 grandma. Since we’re 5, I’d prefer to make reservations. |
Hostaria de Pietro great for lunch and dinner.
Pizzeria Baffetto Johnny Micalusi for seafood. Ristorante Tullio for fantastic steaks and fries. |
Katie Parla is the best for Rome recs; see hers here:
https://katieparla.com/where-to-eat-drink-shop-rome/ Her cookbooks are great, too! |
It's been a few years but I found the high end places had websites where you could make reservations but for lots of other places what worked for reservations was stopping by in the morning or a day or two before and asking about availability. |
Ivo's
Ditirambo's |
Just be aware that the non touristy places serve dinner starting at 8p we went last June with our 11 and 13 yr olds. Stayed at airbnb in the area that's close to where they have all their fashion on the street u can't recall exact neighborhood but that area has a ton of restaurants. |
Cantina Belsiana was our favorite |
Maccheroni - fabulous!! |
Dar Poeta for pizza
Ristorante La Villetta dal 1940 for huge portions of pasta Fraschetteria for pasta and Italian-style charcuterie boards |
Dar poeta pizza is overrated. I liked da Dante but there are a lot of great restaurants in that area of piazza mazzini |
