10 year old girl clothes

Anonymous
I missed the memo that at age 10, all girls clothing for summer will be completely suggestive and way too sexy for a rising 5th grader. Why can't they just make regular clothes and not adultify?

The issue is my 10 year old is 5'2 and wears an adult s/m. She lives in t shirts and shorts and that has worked fine.

Yes. You have to shop carefully and not at reg places to find non suggestive clothes.

My 10 year old wears athleisure type short and t-shirts. Where exactly are you shopping?

I think it depends on the size of your 10 year old. I have a 9.5 year old. She is only 65 pounds and 4 1-2 feet tall. She still looks like a little girl.

old navy, justice.

Mine is a year older but I get it OP. They’re in adult sizes now and those sizes aren’t designed for tweens.
Mine likes athletic wear so I get a lot of hers from the men’s section now. She is in a size S in men’s.

Same. She likes the weight and fit of Target t-shirts so we usually pick up a few there.

That's what mine wears too. We've had good luck on Amazon. Quick dry shirts and shorts.

I'll add that mine still wears a girls size 8/10 so not adult sizing at all.

Hmm, I haven't had this issue. What type of clothing does she like to wear? What size is she in? My almost 10 year old is a 10/12/14 most of the time and we have no issue finding stuff that is still young. But maybe she's a bit behind on this. She will still wear shirts from Target with animals on them....

The only thing I see are girls wearing athletic style shirts or shorts that might be a little short/tight due to a growth-spurt. That isn’t provocative, intentionally or not, that’s “crap -last years summer stuff doesn’t really fit now”.

The athletic shorts for girls now are shorter than I’d like - especially for my skinny, not tall, but long legged, daughter. But they aren’t all so short that I’m forcing her to wear the really longer basketball ones - just keeping an eye out for the ones with enough of an inseam and an adjustable waist

I have a boy in 5th grade and I am amazed at what the girls at his school are wearing. They are all basically dressed the same - short lulu or nike shorts and a fitted top. It literally seems like that changed happened overnight from what I even saw in the fall.

Um, I have not had this problem with my 10 (almost 11) year old. We buy her clothes primarily from Old Navy/Gap/Athleta, H&M, Primary, and Target.

Yesterday I saw a second grader in cutoff jean shorts short enough to show her under butt and a mesh top over a tiny tank. SECOND GRADER.
