Swim Spa owner questions

Looking for input from people who already have a swim spa in their home. We're interested in a 15-18 ft swim spa.

We've gone around to a few places here in VA and seen the wellis, jacuzzi, cal spa and endless pool models. Can anyone provide some info on which one might be better / worse? pro's and cons?
We're looking to get it mostly for recreational use with our kids and some light exercise/ hydro therapy.

I'm most curious about the maintenance / hygiene aspect. They all had different recommended maintenance schedules. For example for the Wellis they say empty out the water 3 times a year. For the Cal Spa they said once a year (which sounds yuck to me), and for the endless they said empty it out half way but not fully and then refill (weird and yuck). Should we be looking for one that uses ozone for filtration / hygiene? We've never had a hot tub / swim spa in our home before so this is all new to us!

The endless pool was by far the most pricey and the cal spa was the most affordable. Would rather stay around / under the $35K mark (for just the spa) if possible. Already have a contractor and landscape architect lined up to help. Would really love to hear from owners what their experience has been!

get the one with the strongest jets, we have one and as long as you keep the levels good you don't really need to drain it that much maybe once every 1.5 years, for heavy use maybe twice a year.

for maintenance make sure to check the levels and add bromein or chlorine to the dispenser once a week. if you miss it or wait longer than you will need to drain it more often or shock a lot .

one more thing to add, get a contractor to dig a pit that has concrete base and walls w/ a sump, or else the swimspa will be very tall and look odd.

How much are endless pools?

Thank you so much for the input! Hadn't been paying too much attention to the jets so will take another look.

We were going to do the concrete base for sure. I think the plan was to build up some sort of surround so it doesn't look like it just sticks out.

If you care to share the model of your swim spa that you've been happy with, would love to know!

I think the 15ft one we saw was about $45K. They are one of the few producers who do share their pricing online - you can look at the various models and their prices.

Whatever recommendations they make about changing the water are entirely arbitrary. You can change it whenever you want.

We have a saltwater spa, not a swim spa. If too many people go in without showering off their lotions and soaps, or whatever (I’m looking at you, DDs, with all your Bath and Body Works stuff), then the water can get some foam when the jets are on, and the salt cell can no longer make chlorine. Time to drain and refill.
