Do MS courses with high school credit show that they were taken in middle school on the high school transcript? Eg if taking French 1 will it show that it was taken in 7th not 9th? |
Yes. |
yes, the grade they where in, total absences, name location.
Example Student name Monster Jusice Frost Middle Schoool 06/2024 DAYS ENR 180 TOTAL ABSENTS 4 DAY PRESENT 176 GRD 07 French 1 B+ 1.00 Ctr taken 1.0 Crd earned 1.0 GPA 3.3 |
Yes |
Does this matter to colleges? |
Final transcripts in HS now show says present and absent? For each year of HS? I am surprised at that. |
It matters in the sense that it conveys the applicant as a middle schooler had the early appetite to take on the more rigorous high school course irrespective of the outcome. For instance, if a student earns a low grade of C in such a course in middle school but shows improvement with grades like B+, A-, A+, etc., in high school courses, it demonstrates to colleges that the student attempted a rigorous course in middle school, initially faced challenges, but persisted and improved progressively in high school. This would be a significant advantage over a student who takes typical courses in high school and earns straight As. |
DP, my DD's did as of 2 years ago. |
Yes, but this is becoming the norm across America to take Algebra in MS. I imagine their course load in the last 2 years of GHS is more important to them. |
sorry, HS |
