Dare I ask…Cornell lateral admission

Freshman son submitted long shot transfer application to Cornell…best stats I can find online is 8% acceptance rate for men (11% for females). Anyone have a different view?

Not happening. Shed the tears now and keep it moving.

Cornell has a guaranteed transfer program where instead of rejecting kids, they offer sophomore transfer. Most transfers come from that pool.

LOL. I needed a good laugh today.

Plus you got the pleasure of being a douche to someone going through a tough process. Good day all around for you.

I heard kids from this program were rejected this year even though the met the criteria. This year is a tight year for Cornell transfers according to my kid who applied and tracks these things.

It’s bc of over enrollment and housing shortages

Yeah, I saw that on Reddit. I would be beyond pissed if I took that offer, did what Cornell asked and then get told, “Oh sorry. We’re not going to hold up our end of the bargain.”

Seriously what kind of toxic, bitter sad soul are you? Innocent, sort of enthusiastic post and this is what you have to say? Are you some lonely married woman bitter with solitude? Some bitter low performer male? Sorry for you, either way

Always a shot. Send them an email letter that you will attend if admitted. My kid transferred in a couple years ago from a top SLAC as a sophomore--did not have any guarantee. He was waitlisted at another school at Cornell and did not get guaranteed transfer. Applied to and got in to Arts and Sciences. Loves it. Graduating in a few weeks.
